How to update iPhone and recover data after updating?

The newly released iOS has new features, better performance and can help to fix bugs. Therefore, it’s necessary to update your iPhone to the latest version. While things do not think you would like to do, when you are planning to update your operating system, you may find that there are no enough space to complete the updating. Do not be frustrated! That does not mean that you cannot upgrade. Follow these steps to try to update your iPhone.

Update on your iPhone
If you do not have enough space on your iPhone, you should delete some data from your iPhone first. If you directly update the system, the iOS may intelligently delete some content from your app to free up space so that to update, but it does not always work. So you should delete some contents to free up space.
Delete apps that you do not need: Go to Settings>General>Storage& iCloud Usage>Manage Storage, tap on the app which you need to delete and tap on Delete App. It will remove the app and data on app. And delete other data on iPhone that you do not need. Also, you can choose to back up your data to iCloud and iTunes and then delete the not regularly used data to save space.
Update iOS: Tap on Settings>General>Software update, tap on Download and install. It will automatically download and install the update. You should make sure your iPhone has enough power 
during this process.

Install via iTunes
If you do not have wireless network now, you can update in iTunes. You just need to connect your iPhone with computer.
Connect your iPhone with computer via an USB cable.
Open iTunes and click the phone icon on the interface.
Click the button “Check for Update” on the right side.
Click Download and Update in the pops up window.
You are suggested to update your iPhone via iTunes as this way can help you to update without data loss. In case you have data loss after updating iPhone, you should take measures as soon as possible. You can choose to recover from your iTunes or iCloud backup, or recover directly from your iPhone.
How to retrieve lost data after updating on iPhone?
First, you should use an USB cable to connect your iPhone with computer.
