How to copy iPhone contacts to PC and transfer and recover contacts to iPhone?

iPhone does not allow users to store contacts on SIM card. All the contact information are stored on iPhone’s memory. Therefore, if you lost iPhone or the device become damaged, you will lost your data. But we still have ways to prevent data loss on iPhone. iPhone allows you to selectively and automatically back up your data to iCloud on iPhone. And you can use iTunes app to sync iPhone and back up data on your computer. First, export contacts with iTunes backup

The iTunes backup is stored on your computer. If you lost any data on iPhone, you can restore your iPhone in iTunes. iTunes back up the entire iPhone, including all the settings and data on device. Second, export contacts to computer without iTunes backup

Without iTunes backup, you still can export contacts on iPhone to computer. You still need to do this with the help of iPhone data recovery software.
