Recovery data How to maintenance your SSD?

Usage of SSD is becoming more and more common for its high performance. At the same time, the SSD has a limited write times so that have restricted life, and if you do not maintenance the SSD, the speed will be greatly influenced. Therefore, maintenance the SSD in daily life is quite necessary.

Ways to maintenance your SSD
1. You should not defrag the SSD
For an HDD, it’s very necessary to defrag it to improve its performance, but this does not apply to the SSD. For the different components between HDD and SSD, the fragmentation on SSD will not limit the speed of reading and writing for it can access any sector on the drive at the same speed. Any data on the SSD will not be simply overwritten. The data will be erased from the SSD first, and then new data can be write to this location. That is why the SSD has restricted read-write times. Although the SSD has a faster speed, the speed will be reduced overtime with increased times of read-write. Each location on the SSD has its own life time. It’s not hard to see that defrag the SSD cannot only improve its performance, but also will influence the speed of SSD.
2. Enable TRIM command
TRIM command is used by SSD to improve the performance by erasing the data immediately. Before you enable the TRIM command, the system only delete the index which used to locate the files, while the file is not deleted until there are other files need to be written. Before it can store new data, it should erase the former data. So the TRIM command has improved the efficiency of the new file’s writing.
To enable TRIM command in Windows, you can follow this way: type cmd in search box, click to open the command prompt. Type fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify and press enter. Then you can the line DisableDeleteNotify = 0 or 1. 0 stands for TRIM is enabled, while 1 is disabled.
If you use the SSD as an internal drive , you should follow the following ways to improve the performance. You should always to clean up the unused files and the temporary files. Move the memory cache.
Then, the question is, as you have enabled the TRIM command, your deleted files will be erased immediately so that you have no time to recover your data after you have data loss. To secure your data, you need to back up your data regularly and treat with your data carefully.
If you lost data before you have enabled the TRIM command, you can take a data recovery software to retrieve them. Hdata recovery software can help you to recover the deleted data that have not been erased from the solid state drive.
