Many people lost data for they forgot to back up. If they have no other copies, it’s not easy for them to restore the data. The data loss is a disaster for all of us. Then you may still want to find way to recover the data. What is the best way to recover the lost data? This is what we are going to talk about today.

System restore and restore point
System restore is a Windows built-in feature to help users to restore their system to a previous restore point when there is a need. The premise to system restore your computer is that you have ever created restore points. The system restore can restore all the system files, installed programs, registry and system settings. For an analogy, the system restore points is like the snapshots of your system at a specific time. With these restore pints, you can roll your computer to these saved time points. You can choose to create system restore point by manual or enable the system to create points automatically when you update system or install programs.
Will the system restore take up your disk space?
Of course the system restore will take up your disk space. Every restore point is the snapshot of your entire system. If you have different restore points, they will take up large memory. So you’d better do not keep too many restore points to consume memory and slow down your computer. If your computer become very slow, you can choose to create the restore points.
But you can set the maximum space usage for the system protection. Go to control panel>system>system protection>configure, in the Disk Space usage part, you can set the space for system protection. After you have set this, the older restore points will be deleted to make way for new ones.
How to enable the system restore in Windows?
Go to control panel>system>system protection>configure, click Restore system settings and previous versions of file. And click Create to create restore points.
Although the system restore and restore points benefit us in restore the system, it will not back up our personal files. So you need to back up your personal data regularly to reduce unexpected data loss. In case you have data loss, do not hesitate to recover them. You need to stop using this drive and add any new data to it. If you have no backups, you need to use the data recovery software to get back your data immediately.
