First, open the command prompt. Click the start button and type CMD in the search box. The cmd.exe utility will display here. Right-click it and choose to run as administrator.

Second, type attrib- s –h –c:/*.*/s /d_ in the window.Press Enter.

The system will execute this command and it will take some times. After this process completed, you can close the command prompt window and then check your files in your hard drive.

Folder options to unhide hidden files

If your files disappear but you do not know the reasons, you can determine that your computer has gotten a virus infection. To get rid of the virus, you need a kind of antivirus software.

First, use the antivirus software to scan the entire hard drive and all the external storage devices connected to this computer.

Second, go to the Folder Options. You can access it in control panel or you can type in the search box to find it. In the Folder options, you can click View tab. In the advanced settings, there is two options:Don’t show hidden files, folders, or drives; Show hidden files, folders and drives. You need to check the second one and click apply.
