Black screen is more
serious problem than blue screen. The blue screen will tell you what happened
on the computer, but the black screen will not. Black screen can occurs after
you have log in the computer, and before you can enter the login screen. It can
happen during or after Windows Installation or update. How to fix the black
screen?
There are several simple way for you to fix the
black screen.
1.
Update or reinstall the Display Driver
If you can sign in the
Windows:
Type device manager in
the search box, open the Device Manager Window.
Click Update Device
Drivers in the Device Manger Window.
Click to expand the
Display Adapters, right-click the Display Adapter Driver, and click Uninstall.
Then reboot, it will
automatically install the drivers.

Unplug all the external devices
Unplug all the external
devices from your computer and reboot. If the black screen disappeared, it
means that one of the external hardware is causing this problem.

Use Safe Mode to fix the black screen
Boot your computer and
turn off when the Windows logo has appear. You should repeat turn off and on
for three times. At the third time you boot, the Windows will boot into
Automatic Repair mode.
Click Advanced
options> Troubleshoot>Advanced options> Startup Settings>Restart,
and press number 4. The Windows will enter into safe mode itself.
Sign in the Windows,
open the Device Manager, expand Display adapters, and right-click the hardware
Intel® HD Graphics and choose the Disable option.
Then reboot your
computer to see if the problem has been solved.
4.
Fix the black screen during or after Windows installation
The black screen occurs
for Setup is still in progress or the setup process is hung up.
You can power down your
computer and try it again. If you cannot shut down the computer, you can long
press the power button until it shut down.
Disconnect your
computer from Internet, and disconnect all the unnecessary peripherals from
computer, such as external hard drive, phones, except the keyboard and mouse.
Remove the power from
your computer. If you use a laptop, you can remove the battery. Wait for more
than 30 seconds and then plug in again.
Power on the computer
again, the Windows may have restart the setup process.
5.
Update the BIOS
Update BIOS may solve
the black screen problem. But you should take care to update it. If you have to
update, please go to the manufacture’s website of your motherboard and download
the latest version of BIOS from this website. If you do not update your BIOS
properly, it can cause damage to your hardware.
