Ransom-ware
is less common than common virus infection. Yet we still have chance to have
ransom-ware infection. The ransom-ware cause more serious computer problems
than the virus. It can prevent you to access your computer, encrypt your files
and demand a ransom, or you cannot access to your files. You cannot use your
files on the computer and your computer even cannot work normally. If one have
very important files on the computer, most of people will choose to pay a large
amount of money to get rid of the ransom.
What
should we do when we suffered a ransom-ware?
First, you should not
pay the money. The ransom is a cyber crime and it’s not so easy for them to
stop after you pay the ransom. It’s useless to talk about integrity with
criminals. If you paid the money, it is to encourage their crime. Even if they
de-encrypt your computer and your files, they have more money to develop their
technologies and have more way to ransom others. On other hand, even you pay
the ransom money, you probably cannot get all your files back. Therefore, when
we have a ransom-ware on computer, we should not pay the money, please try to
use a data recovery software or use the Windows built-in software to recover
them. Even though you may not recover your files by yourself, it’s better than
to give the money to the criminals.
What
is ransom-ware?
Ransom-ware is designed
by hacker or criminals to lock users computer and files to ransom money. If you
have ransom-ware on your computer, your computer screen will be locked. It will
give you a warning message to tell you your computer has been locked and give
you the way to unlock the computer to pay a sum of money. It also gives you the
time limit and payment method.
It gives you a error
warn and leaves a contact phone number. If you dial the phone number, it
requires a large amount of money to fix this problem.
It gives a fake
security threat warn so that mislead you to download their software.
It tells you that your
files are encrypted and you need to buy a key to get back your files.
How
the ransom-ware enter your computer?
If you visit the
malicious website or download some malicious software, you may download the
ransom-ware unconsciously.
You may careless to
open an unfamiliar email, and click the links in the email or download the
attachment.
The ransom-ware may
carried by other storage devices you connected to computer.
Is
safe to recover files from ransom-ware infection?
Even though data
recovery software do not necessarily can recover all the files successfully
from ransom-ware, it is still a good choice.
Generally, you can
recover your files with Windows built-in features like, previous versions,
backup and restore. But some ransom-ware will also encrypt or even delete the
backup versions on your computer. If you cannot recover your files in this way,
you can try to use a data recovery software.
Recover
deleted file from ransom-ware with Hdata recovery software.
Run Hdata
recovery software and choose a recovery mode. You can choose the mode of
Deleted files accidentally or Hard drive partition lost or crash, or Universal
recovery.
Then scan the infected
partition and wait for the end of scanning. You should not interrupt the
scanning process.
Preview files and then
select the files you need to recover them.
Choose a recovery path
to save the files. You should not put them on the infected partition.
