Our computer hard disk
is divided into different partitions. The all have their own drive letter, such
as C, D,E,F. These different partitions enables us to store them by
category and needs. The partition C is usually where the Windows system and
other programs installed and run. Other partitions are named as software, Document,
Entertainment for their specific use. It not only improve the performance of
your computer, but also secure your files on different partitions.
Causes
for partition damage or lost
There are many reasons
for a loss and damaged partition. Occasionally, we may delete or format the
partition by mistake. Sudden power loss will lead to partition damage. Virus
infection can delete the partition deliberately. And there are many other
improper operations like mistakenly partitioning will damage the partition.
Once you found that
your hard drive partitions are damaged, you should try data recovery software
first. Even if the system prompts you to format the hard drive, do not format
it. You need to know that format may let you loss your data. If you have important
data on the hard drive, you should never format it before a recovery.
How to recover hard drive files
from damaged or lost partitions?
When you found a
partition lost or damage, you should stop using this partition. Do not add new
data to this partition. And do not format the partition or re-partition the
hard drive. You can only create a new partition after you have get back your
files from the lost partition.
1. Install and open the
data recovery software on your computer. For the partition lost files, you have
three options. For the formatted hard drive, you can select the mode of
Formatted hard drive accidentally. For the lost or crashed hard drive
partitions, you can select the mode of Hard drive partition lost or crash. Or
you can choose the Universal recovery for any kind of data loss.
2. Then you can find
the listed drive letter for your hard drive partitions. Select the partition
where you have data loss to scan.
3. After scanning all
the files on your hard drive partition, you can preview the files, and then
check what you need to recover.
4. Choose a recovery
path to save the files recovered from the lost partition. Keep in mind that do
not save files on this damaged partition
