Nowadays,
Microsoft Office Word, Excel are necessary office tools for everyone. Data loss
of Word and Excel may be serious. It may means that you have lost all the work
you have done. Today I’d like to introduce you some easier ways to retrieve your
data.
Office
2003 and its new edition has done something for the accidentally data loss. So
even if you still use the minimum version, Office 2003, you still can easily
retrieve your data. Every time you open an excel table, the Office will
automatically to created a temporary files. This temporary files will keep pace
with your excel table. It means that it is just the same as the excel table you
created. When we lost our excel table, we just need to get back this temporary
files. It’s default path is C:\Documents
and Settings\username\ApplicattonData\Microsoft“.
You can find the files ending in ”.xls“ or ”.doc “ by following this default
path. Then you can open it and restore your excel table.

Automatic restoration of Office.
Word and Excel render
the automatic recovery function. This function can help users to get their
unsaved data back after a sudden power loss or program errors. So whenever we
have data loss, we can use this function to help us.
How to do it? You can open your Word
or Excel, choosing “start—open”. From the dialog that pops up, select the
default path ” C:\Windows\Profiles\Username\Application Data\Microsoft\Word”.
And in the drop-down box of file types to choose the format of “ All Files”.
Then rename the file as “Automatic Recovery” and the file suffix as “doc” or “
xls”. And then you can open it. All the data recovery has finished.
Note:
You can also set up a time for automatic recovery. Click the “ Excel
option—Save” to set up automatically save time. You can set up the save time
and the save path.
3. Verify
that the file conversion when they open them.
This
is a native function of Office. Use click “ Options—Word/Excel Options—Advanced
Options” , choose Verify that the file conversion when they open them. Then the
system will pops up the option of “ Conversion a file”. You can choose
the file you need to restore , and click to restore it to pure text.
Note:
You can also tick the option of “ Always create a copy” under the column of
save. With this, you have backup all your files from now on.
4.
Prohibit the automatic macro run of file.
If your file contains
error macro-code, you may cannot open your file properly.
You should open your
Windows explore, and press “ shift” at the same time, then double-click your
file. Then the system will prohibit the macro run. You can get back your file.
If you have tried all
the above method, and you still cannot get back your files, you may have to
seek the help of professional organizations.
