USB data recovery when U disk shows 0 Bytes

With the rapid development of technology, there are more and more data storage media.  The smaller U disks even have dozens of GB capacity to store data. U disk is widely used up quickly for its characteristic of  large capacity, small size, fast read speed. However, there will be a lot of problems in the use. For example, sometimes you may find U disk shows 0 Bytes.  When we faced with this situation, how can we recover our data ?

First we need to know why U disk shows 0 bytes. When you double-click your device, there is a window reads "your disk is not formatted, you want to format now?" But when you click OK  to format, you will find it pops up another window shows "Windows was unable to complete the format!" But you need to notice that, on Internet, the good and poor U disks are intermingled.  You may have spent less money to buy a high storage capacity of U disk, but this kind of U disk is easily to have failures. It is very difficult to repair the problems caused by U disk itself. Therefore, you’d better to choose large manufacturers.

Second, the U disk got a virus.

There is a possibility that the virus had invaded your U disk. In that case, you need to download a antivirus software to kill the virus in U disk.
Third, human’s inappropriate operation.

Many U disk already support a hot removal and insertion, but the frequent hot-plugged may cause data loss. If you did not safely remove by click Exit, you will also suffer a data loss.  The U disk may show 0 Bytes. Therefore, we need to pay more attention to avoid frequent hot-plugged.

Four, U disk interface or PC interface failure.

The solution is to try the other interface first .If the U disk still has a that problem, change another computers. If the U disk still appears 0 Bytes on other computer, the U disk interface is broken. You need to fix your U disk interface. If the U disk are bought from a large manufacturer, and your U disk is in warranty period, you can ask the manufacture to repair for you.

As you have learnt the causes, you can repair it by yourself.

First, right click the drive letter of your U disk, choose “attribute” in the pop up window.

Then, open the property panel, click” tools” and then click “check”, the U disk will repair by itself.
