Data recovery : Causes of hard disk bad track and how to repair?

Hard disk is the main storage medium of computer. It is made of disk of aluminum or glass. The disk is covered with ferromagnetic materials. As a part of workload-intensive, it is easy to be damaged. What can we do when the hard drive bad track happen?

First of all, we should often on high alert for bad track. In these cases, your hard disk may have a bad track.
1.      You open a file or run a program, the hard disk load and repeated error. It prompts file damage.
2.      The sound of disk is quite strange.
3.      The progress bar has stalled when you format the disk. Finally it report error and cannot finish format.
4.      The system will automatic perform scandisk scanning program.
5.      When you perform Fdisk, the progress bar will back and forth so that you cannot complete scanning.
It cannot get through the boot system after start-up. Boot form the floppy disk, it can see the letter of hard disk but cannot access hard disk. The SYS command passing system also does not help. That may be problems in boot sector of hard disk.

Then we need to know the causes of bad track and how to protect hard drive.
1.      Abnormal shut-down. The sudden shut-down of computer while the hard disk is still in working condition may easy cause bad track. The head is keep running when the hard disk is running. The sudden shut-down lead to returned to its place. The friction between head and platter is too intensive.
2.      Static electricity will cause hard drive damage. The human body normally has static electricity, especially in winter. If you touch the hard disk when you are carrying static electricity, the component in hard disk may be damaged so that the hard  drive cannot work.
3.      Excessive heat will damage the hard disk. The hard disk produces heat when working. The normal temperature is between 20 degree centigrade and 25 degree centigrade. Above 25 degree centigrade may cause component failure. Below this temperature, the water molecules in air will be condensed and then on the hard drive. That may cause short circuit of hard disk.
4.      Accumulated dusk cause damage. The damage caused by dust can be fatal. The hard drive must be no dust at all. The contact between head and platter are very tight. If dust fall into this area, your disk will damaged soon.

These are the reasons for bad track. To avoid bad track, you should protect and maintenance your hard drive carefully. And once you make sure that your hard disk has a bad track, do not try to repair it by yourself. You should ask the data recovery engineers to help you, and then try a professional data recovery software.
