Hard disk recovery and how to repair my hard disk

You may guess that repair a hard disk is a very difficult thing. It is our impression that these repair could not done by technology professionals. In fact, it’s an easy thing for you if you can lean some repair skills.

Disk’s main boost record repair

1.      Failure:  A normal used hard disk prompts that “Disk boot failure，Insert system disk and press enter“ after booting and detecting the hard disk. And then it stops booting. You have to use a boot disk to boot it.

Solution: Generally, if this prompt appear and you are sure that there is no failure in your hard disk hardware, then the main boost record may be damaged.

(1)   Dos command

To use a boot disk with FDISK command. After launching the program, the main boost record can be recovered by perform “Fdisk/MBR” under a command prompt. But you should note that the Fdisk command can only be used to repair the main boost record failure caused by virus and meanwhile the main partition table should not be damaged.

(2)   Fixmbr command

Download Fixmbr and save it on a floppy disk. Use floppy disk to boot your system to perform Fixmbr. Then this command will automatic check the MBR structure. If error found, it will ask if you need to repair it. Press ”Y” to confirm. It will search partition and prompt you that if you need to editing MBR. Press ”Y” to start repair.

Rescue hard disk FAT and root directory table

Failure: The information of FAT and root directory table are lost. The hard disk files are missing. And you cannot access to the file name, location, size.

Solutions: Try the CHKDSK program in DOS system and use a hidden parameter “ F”.

Restore accident deleted partition

Failure: Accidently delete a partition as you are not familiar with some tools in using.

Solutions: You can restore it before you not do any partition operation.

Perform the FDISK partition program and create a new partition. The new partition should as the same as the former partition, such as size and location.

Restart your computer, perform “ Format E：/u/q “ under DOS command. E is the drive letter of new partition after deletion. 
After performing that command,  a warning will come up that informs you that you will lose all your programs if you choose format. Press Yes and continue. The system then will prompts that  the quick format is not available, if you want to perform full format, choose No.
