Data recovery free how to fix write protection errors of USB storage devices?

Sometimes, when you plug your USB device into computer, it can be recognized. But it fails when you write any new data to it, or want to change files in this device. The system prompts that the disk is write protected. In that cases, what should we do to remove or disable the write protection of device?

How to fix write protection errors of USB flash disk?
1. Check the files attributes. If you cannot copy or change a files in USB device, you can right-click the attribute of this file to check its attribute. Right click your USB device and choose properties from the drop-down menu, and unchecked the option of Read-only.

2. Check the available storage of your device. If there are no enough space on your device, or the files you want to write in are to large, the write will fail.
3. Check the body of your USB device. If there is a physical switch on your U disk, you should make sure that you have turned off this switch.
4. Scan your device with anti-virus software. Generally, the anti-virus software will automatically  scan your USB driver. It not, you should configure the anti-virus software to automatically scan your USB device once upon you plug it in. If every other USB devices becomes write protected, your computer may have get a virus or have some malware. You should use the the anti-virus software to scan your computer.
5.  Use a USB fix tools to repair your USB device.

6.  Use Windows Command Prompt.
Press Windows key and type disk-part and press Enter.
Type list disk in the opened Diskpart Window and press Enter. You can recognize your device by the size.
Type select disk “1”. (Disk 1 is your selected device) Press Enter.
Type attributes disk clear readonly and press Enter. Then the write protection has been removed. Type Exit and press Enter. Then you can try to write in your device again.
7.  Change the registry.
Press Windows key and input “regedit” in the search box. Right-click to open the registry edit.
Click “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>Control>
StorageDevicePolicies”
Double-click the write protection Entry, a Edit window appears.In the Edit string windows, change the value data entry to 0.
Close the registry and reboot your computer to know if the write protection has been removed.
8. Format your USB device
Right-click your device to choose Format option from the drop-down menu. If this method is failed, you should use the method of edit the registry.
