What is File system?
File system is used to store and retrieve data. It is a

common file systems?
FAT
FAT is short for File Allocation Table. It was the
primary files system on the former versions of operating systems and created by
Microsoft, and is still used by many floppy drive, and storage devices like
flash drives, SD cards. It is still supported by the new versions of operating
systems.
It has several different versions and these versions
differ in the drive size and file size they support. And they also support
different devices.
The new version of FAT files system, called exFAT can be
supported by almost all of operating systems and many other devices, is
designed to used on flash drives and SD cards, which supports the portable
device up to 512TB.
NTFS
NTFS is short for New Technology File System. It is the
primary system used in all kinds of Windows operating systems.
The NTFS supports a hard drive up to 16EB(1EB=1000GB) and
files up to 256 TB. Therefore, it has great advantage than other file systems.
NTFS supports a features called Encrypting File system, which enables each
files and folders can be encrypted.
In addition, the Apple computer use the MTFS file system,
which is short for Macintosh File System. And there is also a new Apple files
system, which abbreviated as APFS.
