Windows 7 has a System
Recovery Options, and it has been replaced by Advanced Startup Options in
Windows 8 and other advanced Windows versions. This Advanced Startup options
menu is also used to repair, restore and diagnose computer issues.
If you can normally boot
your computer, you can access this
menu by click the Charms bar in Win 8(the start menu in previous
versions)>change pc settings>update and recovery> recovery, and you
will find the Advance startup, click “restart now”.
If you cannot boot your
computer, you can access it by a installation
disc. Insert this Windows 8 disc into your computer. Click Next on the Windows
setup screen and then click the link of Repair your computer, then you can
access to the Advanced startup options.
You will see several buttons
on the Advanced startup options menu. It’s necessary for you to know the
fictions of these buttons.
Continue : If you click the Continue button, the advanced startup options
then closed, your Windows 8 will restart.
Device icon: If you want to boot from other devices like DVD or U disk, you can
click this button.
Refresh or Reset your PC: Click on this button, there are two options: refresh your PC or
Reset your PC. If your system is very slow, you would like to improve your
computer’s performance, you can click the first option so that to keep all your
files on computer. If you do not need to keep you files on computer, you can
choose to reset your PC to remove all your files, applications, programs…
Advanced options: This menu is similar to the System recovery options in Windows
7. It contains the following options:
1. System Restore
2. System Image Recovery
3. Startup Repair
4. Command Prompt
